DOGS NSW will open their gates to the general public on Saturday, June 16, 2012, between 9.00am to 5.00pm for ‘Dogs on Show’, not just a Championship Dog Show but an Open Day for the public, featuring special events, activities and demonstrations. These events feature the many sports and the fun you can enjoy with your canine companion, highlighting the advantages of owning a purebred dog as well as the many responsibilities that comes with owning a dog.

There are numerous breed clubs in attendance, setting up information marquees on the day, so anyone interested in a particular breed of dog can speak to experts on their care and suitability to lifestyle.

DOGS NSW also have an information stand on site with information sheets on all the recognised breeds of dog as well as merchandise and showbags for sale.

Activities on the day include a Championship 

Dog Show, Jack Russell Terrier racing, Obedience, Agility and Herding demonstrations, fun with Junior Handling, Dances with Dogs, plus Flyball and Trieball demonstrations. Highlights of the day will be the Police Dog Squad with their exciting shows, plus the colourful and fun Pageant of Breeds. An event schedule will be posted here as time draws closer to the event.

Adding to the festivities, dog related companies are also invited to come along for the day, to promote their products and services.

The Pageant of Breeds is just a small part of the activities, where dogs and their owners dress in costumes that best emphasise the history and origin of each breed. Participants in this fun event are awarded prizes for their costumes and 2011's winners are pictured.
