Microsoft have just released an update to Internet Explorer 9 with its new version 10, please note that it’s still in preview stage so bugs and compatibility issues are not at all surprising.

Windows 8 is now also releasing Version 11 of Internet Explorer on brand new computers, both of these web browsers are not compatible with our online services website.

Wednesday’s meeting of the Board of Directors of Dogs NSW, supported by input from a large number of ordinary Members who attended an Open Meeting held in conjunction, appointed a Steering Committee to lead the membership through the consultation period made available by the relevant Ministers of the NSW Government for responses to the Companion Animals Taskforce Report released on 26 March 2013.

This is arguably the most critical period in the sixty odd year history of our organisation and its predecessors. For the first time ever, an attempt is being made to legislate our activities as “hobby breeders and show & trial exhibitors” into the same category as “large scale pet shop breeders” and “puppy farmers”.


At the ANKC Ltd Board Meeting held in Melbourne on 21st October 2012 the Directors considered issues surrounding a number of Irish Wolfhounds that were descended from what had been identified as an unknown sire. The proceedings were held in Camera.


ANKC Ltd approved the recognition of the breed Tatra Shepherd Dog which is eligible for exhibition in Group 6 (Utility) as from 1 July 2013.

DOGSNS1These awards exist to recognise the valuable contribution of inpiduals to the current and future existence of the organisation. In particular, the Awards System, described below, is intended to recognise a wide range of factors, more than simply by being a long-term Member. It also seeks to create awards so that significant contributions to Dogs NSW may be recognised appropriately.


The following amendments to ANKC Ltd Regulations Part 2 – Judges, as approved at ANKC Ltd Board meeting October 2012, is brought to the attention of all Dogs NSW Affiliates and Judges:


For all Bullmastiff litters born after 1 January 2013 the following will apply:

1.1 Both parents of every litter must be screened for Hip Dysplasia through an official Hip Dysplasia Control Scheme where the parents have been born after 1 June 2011.

The American Staffordshire Terrier is not classed a dangerous dog in Australia and yet Qantas has placed it on a restricted list which means pure bred and cross bred Amstaff can’t be transported by Qantas or its designated freight carrier around Australia or overseas.

Amstaff are one of the most popular breeds in Australia and account for 7% of dog ownership. This breed is NOT subject to any restrictions in any state or territory in Australia. Please help by signing the petition.


DOGS NSW confirms that affiliates, clubs and exhibitors each have responsibility for the care and welfare of dogs involved in shows and trials.

It is eligible for entry on the pure bred register forthwith and to be shown under Group 1 (Toys) from 1 January 2013 for exhibition purposes.
