Responsible Pet Education Tile webThe New South Wales Government is looking for potential Pet Educators to join the Responsible Pet Ownership Program. Pet Educators and their dogs present to students from Pre-school through to Year 2 to promote the message of responsible pet ownership and dog safety in the community.

The Program is now calling for expressions of interest from enthusiastic people to fill some vacancies. If you enjoy talking to children, have the time, own a happy and healthy dog that resides with you and enjoys socialising with children of all ages, please consider this program.

You must:

• Own a fit and healthy dog(s) between the ages of 18 months and 8 years old.  All dogs participating in Living Safely With Pets are required to pass a suitability test

• Have a current driver’s licence and own a reliable car

• Be flexible with availability regarding days of the week

• Be eligible for an appropriate Working With Children Check in NSW.

This is a casual position based around the school terms with some flexibility in the days you work but you need to be available two days a week for this program. Appropriate remuneration (including travel allowances) is applicable for this position.

All potential Pet Educators will need to be available for an interview and suitability testing of their dogs, plus two days of training.
