North Sydney Council Logo webPosh pooches will be putting their best paw forward for a chance to win the title of ‘Best Dressed Doggie’ at North Sydney Council’s second Bradfield Bark later this month.

Just one of several competitions being held at the dogs’ day out in Bradfield Park on Sunday 28 May, prizes will also be awarded to the winners of the ‘Doggie & Owner Look-a-like Comp’, ‘Most Fabulous Doggie Senior’ and for the ‘Best Doggie Trick’.

There will also be several dog demonstrations throughout the day, including displays from Canines for Conservation, who sniff out weeds to protect Australian habitat and can detect endangered species. Other demonstrations include agility with the Manly and District Kennel and Dog Training Club and flyball with the Sydney Psychos Flyball Team.

With a busy program of activities, there’s something to suit all ages, including a special guest appearance from a star of kids’ cartoon Paw Patrol, a giant dog jumping castle, doggie face painting, a Pawpaw-razzi photo booth, airbrush tattoos, Reverse Garbage craft workshops and an interactive mural.

The day will also be packed full of food, music and a variety of stalls for our fur residents and their human companions to enjoy.

Purfect day 380 webMayor Jilly Gibson said: “You only have to go for a short stroll in one of our lovely parks to see North Sydney has an abundance of animal lovers. The numerous dog walkers help create a feeling of community and it’s lovely to see so many people enjoying the great outdoors with a furry friend in tow.

“Council’s Bradfield Bark event celebrates the contribution our four-legged friends make to our community and acknowledges the health and social benefits having a dog, as part of the family, provides."

“We’ll also be fundraising for our charity partner, the Sydney Cats and Dogs Home – Sydney’s only not-for-profit pound.”

Council will roll out the grass carpet from 10am in Bradfield Park for our canine community, inviting all dogs and their families to join in the fun and games.

Bradfield Bark is also supporting Sydney Dogs and Cats Home as a charity partner for the event. Gold coin donations will be collected on the day.

All pets attending the event must be on-leash but a special off-leash area will be provided for dogs to run free on the day.
