We are based in Sydney and enjoy partaking in various dog sports and activities with our Lappies.
Our breeding program is based on imports from Finland. Our puppies are whelped and raised in our home, receiving round the clock care, socialisation and foundation training.
Finnish Lapphunds originate from Lapland, the region north of Finland, Sweden, Norway and part of Russia. They lived with the indigenous Sami people, providing assistance with herding reindeer and companionship.
This breed has a simply amazing temperament. They are emotionally intelligent, intuitive, kind and caring. They are very versatile, with Lappies (as they are affectionately known) participating in obedience, rally obedience, agility, herding, lure coursing, backpacking, dancing with dogs, therapy work and tracking. But at the same time, loving curling up on the couch with some cuddles with their family. They are a working dog with an off switch. A great family companion and best friend for children. A wonderful jogging buddy or companion at the local cafe. To meet a Lappie is to fall in love with this breed.
Having been lucky enough to be entrusted with some very special dogs from Finland, we strive to maintain the type and temperament that makes this breed so incredibly special in their homeland. We are always happy to speak with and meet people who are looking to add a Finnish Lapphund to their family. We hold regular Lappie get togethers in Sydney parks and open days at our home. People interested in the breed are welcome to come along and meet some Lappies and learn about the breed.
We currently have puppies available and litters planned. Puppies are available for show, performance or pet homes. Please contact us to receive an information pack.
