The NSW Draft Test Working Party are planning to conduct a draft training day on Saturday 17th April, 2021 at DOGS NSW grounds at the German Shepherd area.
The sport was designed to accommodate and retain the skills and working ability of dogs of traditional drafting breeds.
Dogs that pull a cart have to be physically strong, sound and well trained. The draft dog must be adaptable and of good disposition. They must be willing and work well with their handler in variety of terrains and situations. The Novice Draft Dog Test requires dogs to complete a set of basic control exercises and be capable of pulling the vehicle plus 10kg.
If this sounds like you and your dog, please come along. Beginners welcome at 9.00-10.30am to go through ground rules and basic requirements of draft. Experienced handler training to follow.
Please bring some morning tea and join us at break time! If you require any further information please contact Sandy Wesselink, email@example.com
