OPEN TO ALL BREEDS
What is SprintDogTM?
SprintDogTM is a new Dogs Australia sport that provides all dogs of all breeds and sizes an enjoyable, healthy and fun activity. SprintDogTM is a timed 100 metre sprint where dogs of all sizes complete a 100 metre run, either by chasing a lure or recalling to the finish line. Times are averaged over two runs, converted to speed converted into points based on height handicaps that then count towards SprintDogTM titles.
Dogs compete individually and do not compete against each other – this sport is all about your dog’s individual performance and improving on its individual speed.
Who can participate?
Any dog can participate – they just need to be registered on the Dogs Australia Limited, Main, Sporting or Associate Register. Dogs must be over 12 months of age in order to compete.
More information on titles and eligibility is available in the rules on the Dogs Australia website.
Training
Training is a good opportunity to see if your dog will run and understand the rules without the pressure of a trial.
