The Pet Show 18-19 November 2023

10-10-2023

The Pet Show is Australia's leading pet and animal event, about positive pet parenting and dedicated to celebrating the love and passion for all creatures great and small. With a history of sold-out shows and thousands of satisfied attendees, The Pet Show is the ultimate destination for pet parents and enthusiasts, animal lovers, and industry professionals.

The Pet Show, Australia's premier pet and animal event, is thrilled to announce its triumphant return to Sydney this November after sell-out shows in Melbourne and Brisbane earlier this year. The event is set to be bigger, more exciting, and with a special feature that's making waves in the aquatic industry – Dalua "Reef Town."

The Pet Show has become a must-attend event for pet parents and enthusiasts, animal lovers, and industry professionals, and this year's Sydney edition promises to be the most spectacular yet. Taking place from November 18th to 19th, 2023, at Sydney Showground, this event will bring together the best of the pet world under one roof.

DOGS NSW and their members has supported The Pet Show since its inception and provide valuable information, advice and engagement opportunities for visitors and their dogs or, future purebred dog choices.

What makes this year's show even more exciting is the introduction of Dalua "Reef Town," a dedicated area for reefers and the aquatic industry generally. Dalua Reef Town will showcase the mesmerizing beauty of coral reefs and the thriving aquatic life within them. This unique addition will offer enthusiasts and professionals a platform to explore the latest innovations, technologies, and products in the aquatic industry. Whether you're a seasoned reefer or just starting out, Reef Town promises to be a fascinating and educational experience.

"We're thrilled to bring The Pet Show back to Sydney after such incredible success in Melbourne and Brisbane earlier this year," said Cameron Just, Managing Director. "Our team has worked tirelessly to create an unforgettable experience for pet lovers and professionals alike. The addition of Reef Town is a testament to our commitment to showcasing the diversity of the pet and animal world. We can't wait to welcome everyone to this fantastic event."

The Pet Show Sydney will feature a wide range of attractions, including:

AFFILIATED CLUBS AND/OR MEMBERS WANTING TO ATTEND
The Pet Show provides a unique opportunity to speak to a diverse audience about their foray into the world as pet parents through to those adding furry friends to their existing home. The organisers are all about providing time and space for visitors to learn how to positively pet parent and they would welcome your assistance.

As part of The Pet Show’s mission to educate visitors, an important piece is the education around adopting a rescue vs purchasing a purebred dog. By participating in the Meet the Breed Zone, produced in conjunction with DOGS NSW, you can help close the education gap for visitors.
The organisers will provide the exhibition stand for you, a name sign, two tables with tablecloths and fours chairs for you over the weekend, if you can provide some of your beautiful breed examples, information about your breed and get the word out to all your followers. In addition we would like a club representative to do a 15-20 minute talk each day of the Show as part of the Ask the Breeder talks.

Application to attend
Please click here to upload an Exhibitor Application Form for a stand at The Pet Show.

Upon completion of the supplied Pet Show application form by the respective Dog breeder, Breed Club and Sporting Club, the organisers will allocate a number of complimentary stands at The Pet Show as a breeder, breed group or other agreed group. This will be at the discretion of The Pet Show however, if you have any specific request in terms of size, etc, then please contact the organisers at the time of booking. The organisers encourage exhibitors to bring their own pull up banners and promotional materials to make the stand look attractive.

Metropolitan Region members are advised of an error in the 2023 Board Elections Ballot Paper, which only allows for the member to vote for one (1) Candidate where, in fact, there are two (2) positions up for election.  The error relates to Clause 1 on the back of the Ballot Paper which will now read as follows:-

1.  You are requested to clearly express your voting intention by placing a "tick", a cross (ie X) or a number (eg 1) in the square opposite the names of the TWO (2) candidates for whom you wish to vote.

DOGS NSW Office sincerely apologies for this error and any inconvenience it may cause.

To rectify the problem, new Metropolitan Ballot Papers - in a
bright blue print - are being issued by post.

Please be advised that all red voting ballot papers will now be declared invalid and
only bright blue voting ballot papers will be counted.

Therefore, if you have already voted on a red voting ballot paper you are required to re-vote on a blue voting ballot paper.

However, if you have not voted as yet, please dispose of the red voting ballot papers and await the new bright blue voting ballot papers.

Again, DOGS NSW Office sincerely apologies for any inconvenience which may be caused in this instance.

Dogs Australia wishes to clarify Regulations Part 5 – Conformation Shows Clause 1.2.1, Bred by Exhibitor - 14

09-08-2023

Dogs Australia wishes to clarify Regulations Part 5 – Conformation Shows Clause 1.2.1, Bred by Exhibitor - 14 which currently reads:

Bred by Exhibitor -14 - For dogs aged six months and over. The exhibit must be owned and handled by the breeder of record. The exhibit must be handled throughout the breed classes, all group and general specials classes by the owner or part owner of the prefix under which the exhibit was originally registered.

Clarification:
If an exhibit is entered in class 14, it must be handled by the owner/breeder at all times right through to Best in Show. No one other than the breeder/owner may handle the exhibit at any stage of the show.

If 2 exhibits are owned/bred by a single person and the two exhibits are entered by the same person in class 14, the owner/breeder may determine which exhibit he/she will handle and the other exhibit would have to be withdrawn. If an exhibit is owned/bred by a partnership, then any member of the partnership may handle the exhibit through to Best in Show.

To give an extreme example, if three exhibits of three different breeds are entered in class 14 and are owned/bred by the same couple and they all win Best in Group. Then, for Best in Show, the couple could handle two of the exhibits and the third would have to be withdrawn.

Dogs Australia are arranging for this clarification to be published on their social media page.
