THAT DOGS NSW Regulations Part XI- Code of Ethics, Clause 9, which currently reads as follows:-

9.    A Member shall not breed a bitch that results in it whelping more than twice in two years without the prior written approval of a Veterinary Surgeon. (06/22)

Be amended to read:

9.        A Member shall not:-

a.    (11/23) Breed a bitch that results in it whelping more than twice in two years without the prior written approval of a Veterinary Surgeon.

b.    When a bitch has whelped litters from two (2) consecutive seasons, she must have a twelve (12) month rest from whelping any further litters. (11/23)
  
A breach by a Member of Clause 9a and/or 9b will result in the litter being registered on the Limited Register marked “never to be upgraded”, (11/23)

AND
The Member will be subject to disciplinary action under the current penalty regime. (11/23)

At its November meeting, the Board resolved to amend DOGS NSW Regulations PART XI - INQUIRIES, INVESTIGATIONS & APPEALS as follows:-

THAT DOGS NSW Regulations Part XI-Inquiries, Investigations & Appeals, Clause 5.3(b), which currently reads:-

5.3(b)   Where any person in relation to a matter the subject of an inquiry is more than 100 kilometres by road from the place at which the inquiry hearing is to be conducted, or has a valid commitment which restricts them from attending the hearing in person and that person has presented a written statement to the inquiry, the Committee may permit the person to give evidence and be cross examined by means of a telephonic conference facility.

Be amended to read:-

(ii) In the case were witnesses will be attending the hearing in support of the parties involved, names and contact details of those witnesses are to be provided not less than ten (10) working days prior to the Hearing date. (11/23)

           THAT DOGS NSW Regulations Part XI-Inquiries, Investigations & Appeals, Clause 14.4.1, which currently reads as follows:-

At its meeting on Wednesday 8 November 2023, the DOGS NSW Board of Directors elected Mrs Lyn Brand as DOGS NSW President.

In addition, the Board elected the following Directors as Vice Presidents to form the DOGS NSW Executive:-
•    Stephen Oliver
•    Rosemary Privett
•    Angus McIlrath
•    Sue McFadden

From those Vice Presidents, Director Stephen Oliver was elected as Senior Vice President.

The Board would like to extend its thanks to Director Lynette Brown for her contribution and service during her term as President of DOGS NSW.

At the October 2023 Board meeting the Board resolved to amend the following Clauses in DOGS NSW Regulations Part II-Show:-

• Clause 7.1:  Breed Groups
• Clause 8.4:  Period between commencement of Classes – minimum number of entries
• Clause 10.19:  Disqualification of dogs at an FCI CACIB Show

11.  A Member shall not conduct or permit mother/son, father/daughter or brother/sister matings. Puppies born, as a result of such matings, will not be registered on the Main Register.

On 18 October 2023, via Electronic Motion, the Board resolved to amend DOGS NSW Regulations Part III-2024/2025, to include the following additional Clauses:-

5.3 The Chair of the Conformation Judges Training Committee will be any DOGS NSW member of good standing that has knowledge of and has been involved with the Conformation Judges Education Program in any State Member Body of Dogs Australia in any prior year.

AND

5.4 The Chair of the CJEP Examinations Committee shall be an All Breeds Judge of at least five (5) years standing.

Please be advised that, following the 2023 RNSWCC Annual General Meeting, several people have tested positive for COVID.  Members are advised they should monitor for symptoms and test themselves if necessary.  It is recommended that should you test positive or feel unwell, stay home and isolate at least until the symptoms have gone.

NSW Pet Registry Upgrade
We’re improving user interactions, data accuracy, and task efficiency. Our goal is to create a user-friendly system that fosters positive animal welfare outcomes and facilitates seamless identification, registration, and ownership transfer of cats and dogs.

About the Design Review
We’re seeking the expertise of breeders and authorised identifiers to provide feedback on two components of the new system:

1. Breeder Create a Litter Process
2. Authorised Identifier Digital Microchipping Form

What you can expect
During the session, you’ll be guided through the evolving design of these two components. Your valuable feedback and recommendations will play a crucial role in refining the design and enhancing functionality. Additional user testing will occur at a later date to further validate these designs.
